Following the live of November 06, many of you have asked us for some details. We will answer them through the following two points: the elements we want to propose during the convention, and the funding.

CONVENTION

We plan to offer the following elements:

– An area with a Star Citizen atmosphere

– The BE@Con Expo (presentation of fan-arts, screens, community productions)

– Cosplay contest (https://beacon-sc.eu/cosplay-contest-rules/)

– Many presentations, animations and interviews

– Corpo Stands” to allow corporations to promote their know-how and meet the community

– Games and a raffle.

– And more…

THE FUNDING

How can you help us to realize the event?

You can turn to Tipeee donations (https://fr.tipeee.com/beacon-2022), the purchase of BE@Con accessories on the E-Shop (https://beacon.tunetoo.com/), the ticketing via our three packs Starter, Club and Platinum.

Why, in addition to ticketing, did we set up a Tipeee?

Because we have made the choice to offer entry tickets at an affordable rate.

Indeed, at the Bar Citizen in Liège the entrance fees were free. With the increase of the number of people who wish to participate, it becomes impossible for us to propose the same place as in the previous editions. It is therefore necessary to obtain a larger room, which is unfortunately not free, unlike the room we had. We could not ask for participatory financing, but this would mean increasing the price of the seats considerably. Of course, we cannot offer you a starter ticket for 80€, as many of you are coming from other countries.

What are the different levels of Tipeee?

To goals that allow us to propose more things when they are reached. The BE@Con will take place, whether we reach these levels or not.

– From 5000€, we could have better quality material, more freedom in the artistic choices, better facilities for our guests, etc..

– From 7500€, the budget for the sound system and the lighting would be more important. We could then offer you a place with a much better atmosphere.

– From 10 000€, the global budget being more consequent, we would propose a more important immersion. This includes the enlargement of the “Grim-Hex” atmosphere scenery area

How are the revenues from Tipeee donations and E-Shop purchases distributed?

For a Tipeee donation, after deduction of taxes and the cost of the goodies, about 40% remains usable.

For an E-Shop purchase, after deduction of taxes and production costs, less than 20% is usable.

 

What would we do if, at the end of the event, the BE@Con balance was positive?

We will re-inject the surplus in the preparation of the next event. No profit is expected for the organizers. Indeed, as an ASBL with its own legal form, we are not allowed to distribute the profits among the members of the association: we are all volunteers.
